About this service

This website is operated by Gloucestershire Constabulary to support members of the public in protecting their bicycles and to reduce the time spent by officers investigating bicycle theft.

What you can do here

Members of the public can register an account, record the details of one or more bicycles they own, report a previously registered bicycle as stolen, and track the progress of the investigation. All data is held securely on the constabulary's systems.

How this helps

By keeping bicycle frame numbers, manufacturer details, and photographs on record, officers can rapidly identify recovered bicycles and return them to their owners. Centralised reporting also makes it easier to identify patterns of theft across Gloucestershire and target prevention activity accordingly.

Privacy

Personal data is processed in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation. Account credentials are stored using bcrypt password hashing, and database queries use prepared statements to protect against unauthorised access. The full security approach is described in the project documentation.
